Fall Makeup Trend: Clumpy Lashes

By  |  0 Comments

Orange tans, too much blush, overdrawn eyebrows- these are just a few of the Beauty Don’ts that we’ve always been told.  But what if clumpy, columns-of-mascara eyelashes were actually acceptable all this time? Before you report me or write me off for sharing these tips, just think about the other craziness that has been confirmed to be fashion forward as of late (I’m looking at you with the ombre/balayage/dark roots).  Here are three reasons to give spidery thick clumpy lashes a chance this Fall.

1. Clumpy mascara gives your eyes a pop.

In the immortal words of Coco Chanel, “Fashion is architecture- it is a matter of proportions.” If you play up big lashes with the right brows, you’ll make the windows to your soul the sole focus of your face.

Try Chanel‘s Le Volume de Chanel mascara to create windows to your soul.

2. Mascara is a better alternative than eyelash extensions.

The popular procedure for false lashes has its hidden dangers. Medical experts have warned that risks range from irritation and infections to loss of eyelashes and even erosion of the eyelids. Scary stuff!

MAC has a great alternative with their False Lashes Extreme Black mascara.

3. Heavy lashes make a statement.

Rather than opting for Minnie Mouse eyes, a generous application of mascara like Dior Addict It-Lash Volumizing mascara can achieve an edgier look. Go 90′s Grundge with natural foundation and a dark lip, or Super Haute with slicked back hair to contrast. Side note: Just make sure to wash your face every night to avoid the build up of bacteria around your eyes.
