Rosie Pose-Y: Red Carpet Posing 101

By  |  0 Comments

Consider this your red carpet boot camp. Today’s training: how to pose like a supermodel. Your trainer: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. We’re pulling the model’s best red carpet moments and taking note on how to get all pose-y, just like Rosie.

Look Back At It

If you’ve got it, flaunt it. And Rosie knows that. Steps to executing a perfectly-coy, over-the- shoulder pose:

  1. Turn body away from the camera.
  2. Cross legs, placing one foot in front of the other.
  3. Twist upper body in the direction of whichever foot is leading (seen here: left foot leads, twist left).
  4. Look back, following the lead of your twisted shoulder, and tilt head back slightly.

*Expert tip: For added drama, smile with your eyes while striking an over-the-shoulder pose.

Best Foot Forward

This next pose may require a little yoga training. No, seriously you’d be surprised by how much balance it takes to stand tall on the red carpet. Don’t be nervous though, we’ve got you covered:

  1. Frame your body to face the lens. In the case of multiple photogs, you may have to frequently reposition.
  2. Once you’ve found your placement, cross ankles, placing weight onto the ball of your leading foot.
  3. To create the illusion of supermodel limbs, rest both hands on your natural waistline, not at your hips.
